About Amra Ali
Amra Ali is an art critic and researcher. She studied studio arts and art history at the University of Ottawa, Canada, in 1985, and was a Nieman Affiliate at Harvard University (2001-002). The focus of her writings has been to understand the critical issues and context of contemporary art in Pakistan, and the role of the Pakistani diaspora in the emergence of new identities.
Amra Ali began writing art reviews for the Frontier Post, Peshawar in the early 90’s, and has contributed to Star, Gallery @ Dawn, Friday Times, and Newsline, besides contributing to Art India and Circa. She currently contributes to Encore, The News.
